Manchester City’s Champions League Match

Before the match between two clubs vying for a Champions League spot, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola announced that new recruits Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis, and Abdukodir Khusanov will be included in the squad for Saturday’s league match against Chelsea.

Guardiola is happy about their signing because Jeremy Doku and Ruben Dias will not be playing at Etihad Stadium. Guardiola claimed Doku “felt something” during City’s 6-0 thumping of Ipswich Town on Sunday, while Dias was substituted at halftime of Wednesday’s Champions League defeat to Paris St. Germain due to an abductor issue.

Guardiola’s Views on Victor and Khusanov

“Vitor requires time because he is young and has a big personality. Of course he can start if he’s here with us,” Guardiola remarked. “Khusanov has already made peace with the fact that he managed tough, swift players while playing in the French league. However, since he doesn’t speak English well, one of the challenges we will face is communication.

“Marmoush, I think he will adapt quick,” Guardiola went on. “They will make us strong and I’m pretty sure that the club decided for these players for the future and many years.”

City currently in fifth place, Chelsea in fourth

After a terrible few weeks of bad performances, City is now in fifth place in the table, while Chelsea is two points ahead of them in fourth.

Guardiola stated he was certain his team would at least earn a top-four finish and a Champions League berth next season, even if an unprecedented fifth straight Premier League title currently appears all but unattainable with leaders Liverpool leading by 12 points with a game remaining.

“The game on Saturday is crucial. Despite the significant issues we have faced recently, we are very near in the standings,” Guardiola stated. “The goal this week is really, really important.”

Maintains a positive attitude towards the upcoming match

Guardiola responded, “We can make it,” when asked how worrying it would be if City did not finish in the top four the following season. Why should I adopt a different perspective?

“I believe it will occur. I am really, really optimistic.

Next Wednesday, City will host Club Brugge of Belgium in a crucial Champions League league-phase match. Only the top 24 advance, while City is stuck in 25th place.

Guardiola remarked, “The next two games are finals for us,” referring to Brugge and Chelsea.

Guardiola didn’t say much about Kyle Walker’s leaving since it was anticipated that his loan transfer to AC Milan would be announced soon.

Guardiola stated, “It is what it is,”
