The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is more comfortable to hold than the S24 Ultra

S24 Ultra

On January 23, 2025, Samsung debuted its S25 lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. After a brief period of exclusive use of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, these are our first impressions:

Design

The Galaxy S25 Ultra looks like the S24 Ultra and keeps the same upscale, streamlined feel. But when you pick it up, it seems lighter, has thinner bezels, and is simpler to use. The gadget is easier to take out of the pocket because its corners are softened.

Display

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is somewhat larger than the previous flagship, although weighing 14g less than the S24 Ultra. Its 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display has a QHD+ resolution, and its incredibly smooth 120 Hz refresh rate ensures quickness and fluid scrolling.

The screen is clear even in direct sunlight because to its anti-reflective coating and maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. Corning Gorilla Armor 2 additionally increases the display’s durability.

Camera

One significant difference in the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the 50MP Ultra-wide camera, which was formerly 12MP in the S24 Ultra. With this update, users may now take ultra-wide images of significantly greater quality, which is useful for group photos.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 50MP, 10MP, and 200MP wide lens. Like the S24 Ultra before it, the front camera has 12MP.

Battery and technical

It offers remarkable multitasking and gaming performance because to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. According to Samsung, the new processor outperforms the previous generation with a 40% improvement in neural processing, a 37% rise in CPU, and a 30% increase in GPU efficiency.

With a 40% larger vapor chamber than the previous generation, Samsung has improved the S25 Ultra’s thermal management in addition to its potent processor.

The gadget has a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged with 45W wired and 25W wireless power. It can be configured with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage.

Features of AI and software

The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s interaction with AI to transform the phone into a “JARVIS” from “Iron Man” is one of the main ways it differs from the previous generation. Gemini, which differs slightly from the conventional Gemini seen in other devices, is launched by holding down the power button.

Users can add images there to learn more about any of the components. For instance, we provided the Gemini of S25 Ultra with the minutes of a certain meeting, and they provided us with thorough analysis and recommendations for enhancements.

We also looked at the Galaxy AI video editing program, which makes noise reduction simple. Any video’s audio can be distinguished into many categories, such as “voice,” “wind,” “noise,” “crowd,” and others, with a single tap.

The operating system (OS) has an intuitive design and is based on Android 15 with One UI 7. To ensure long-term support, Samsung will provide up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches.

According to Samsung, pre-orders for the newly released Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25+ will open on January 29, 2024, and the handsets will be available in Bangladesh.
